Gordon Rush Shoes for men – Review, Quality and Features

Gordon Rush Men’s Shoe Review

We take a little review of the Gordon rush shoes that have graced online shops and retail outlets lately. I did see a Gordon rush chukka boot I like so I decided to give them a closer look. Actually, it’s a Gordon rush Dawson chukka boot. It looked well-crafted with lots of detailing, Italian calf suede upper, breathable calfskin lining, leather outsole all held in place by a durable blake stitched construction. Very nice looking shoe indeed, perfect for jeans, chinos, jackets, work and casual wears.

We review this brand and get to introduce some of the shoe pairs that have had decent positive reviews at online retail outlets.

Gordon Rush History

When compared to big brand names like G.H Bass shoes, Allen Edmonds or Alden, Gordon rush is a relatively new company. As of writing, they are barely 20yrs in business. They have very little history behind them. The company was founded in 1998 and they have been producing shoes they claim are tailored to fit and appeals to the sensibilities and latest fashion trends of the modern man. Their work ethic claims to revolve around artisan craftsmanship, refined aesthetics and unrivaled comfort that is influenced by the way men live their lives today.

How far this company will go in a highly competitive US market still remains a cause for debate. If they keep up the pace maybe we might see a merger or a complete takeover by bigger brands with deep pockets.

Frequently Asked Questions Gordon Rush Shoes

Is Gordon Rush any good?

They are still a new brand. So let’s give them the benefit of a doubt. They do have some nice quality shoes on the market. How long they can keep up with innovation in a competitive and fast-moving trending market remains a cause for debate.

What is the quality of Gordon rush shoes?

Near average. Not knock-offs like shoes from China, below the average quality of brands like Cole Haan and Kenneth Cole. Nothing near Allen Edmonds or Alden. Very affordable, most men will be happy with the shoes and can be mixed up with the higher end brands you have in your wardrobe.

Are Gordon rush shoes true to size?

Yes.  So far there hasn’t been much customer complaints about the sizing of these shoes. It is our advice tho, that you read customer reviews to learn if other buyers have recently had a problem with the size.

Do Gordon Rush shoes run big?

No, they don’t run big, although you might want to order half a size above what you regularly wear if you have wide feet.

Does Gordon rush shoes run small?

No, they don’t run small.

What is the average price of a quality Gordon rush shoe?

I have seen some of the oxfords run as low as $40 a pair and some chukka boots go as high as $275 a pair. A quality Gordon rush should cost a little above the $70 mark. For economic reasons, I do not expect the company to stock high-end products.

Where can I find a good Gordon rush shoe?

One their personal website hosted by Shopify or on retail giants like Amazon and Zappos. However, we strongly recommend you try out first the shoes we listed above. They have some decent positive reviews on verified purchases.

Gordon rush outlet near me?

As the company is new, they might not have enough retail outlets to serve major areas of the United States. It is best to look into their web address and online retail outlets like Amazon and Zappos to order their shoes and accessories.

Where can I find a discounted Gordon rush shoe?

How old has this company been in existence?

The company was incorporated in 1998.

  1. I really liked these shoes when I first purchased. However just after three months of very minimal use, the sole came loose from the shoe. I have never had this happen before with any shoe, so I emailed customer service. They said they were sorry but they would not replace the shoe or repair. I will stick with my normal brands. I will not do business with people that do not stand behind their product.

  2. Interesting post, Tony. Thanks for sharing your experience. I see that some of the models mention they are Blake stitched, others don’t. If a shoe is made with Blake or Goodyear welt stitching, they will last through the years but cost more time, effort and moeny to make. With Blake stitching, the soles are stitched directly onto the uppers so they’d be very unlikely to tear off that easily. Brands are proud of their Blake and Goodyear Welt stitching and would proudly note it on their descriptions. If it’s not listed, the shoe is likely only glued and destined to end up in the trash in short order. I’ve had many a glued sole come off at the worst time. Never again. Cheers
